‘Bolanle Oduntan is a corporate and transaction lawyer with nearly a decade experience in transaction lead and support. A graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University and the Nigerian Law School. He has extensive experience in corporate and commercial law and dispute mitigation and resolution. He has advised on several high-profile LNG projects and pioneer commercial briefs in the automotive sector.
He initially joined Septagon Solicitors as Associate in 2015, where he advised several multinational companies in the maritime and energy sector, and provided legal support to start-ups and SMEs. He successfully supports several tech startups such as, Nigerian beauty start-up company Podozi and agricultural solutions company Coldhubs, through initial international Series-A funding rounds. He successfully represented both foreign investors and investee companies in Series A funding rounds.
He also provided company secretarial and board support services to private and publicly listed companies, advising Boards and Board Committees from time to time. He is company secretary and technical legal adviser to over 18 privately held companies with a combine turnover of over N200 Billion Naira.
Bolanle also worked in the Broadcasting sector and help lead several the acquisitions of technical broadcast capacity, content aggregation, content acquisition and contract renegotiation. He is an astute negotiator and transaction support counsel.
Bolanle was until recently the Group, Business, Legal and Compliance Counsel of the Saroafrica Group where he provided legal advice to the group executive management and board of directors and helped the group coordinate strategic business expansions and divestments in the agricultural and agro-industrial sector. He also helped coordinate multi-million-dollar transactions in foreign procurements and off-take exports.
He holds membership of several professional bodies. He is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) Nigeria, a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), a member of the Compliance Institute, Nigeria (CIN), a member of the Young International Arbitration Group of the London Court of International Arbitration, and a member of the Young ICCA of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration among others.
